I started Radix Tenebris to showcase albums that give you a nostalgic feeling while having a retrospective. This week’s albums continue the journey into the abyss of deep melancholic sounds. Each track serves as a haunting echo of memories long past, evoking emotions that linger in the shadows of the mind. From ethereal ambience to somber melodies, these albums immerse listeners in a realm where time seems to stand still, allowing reflection upon the complexities of existence.

Radix Tenebris, meaning ‘Root of Darkness’ in Latin, symbolizes the exploration of the profound depths of human experience, where the music becomes a conduit for delving into the shadows of our souls.

I added the list of the albums I have played so far so you can research on your own about the genre and style of music. They are eclectic and all over the place, but each one of them gives you this ethereal feeling.

  1. Oneohtrix Point Never — Again
  2. Space Afrika — Honest Labour
  3. Burial — Antidawn
  4. Autechre — PLUS
  5. Akira Rabelais — Eisoptrophobia
  6. From the Mouth of the Sun — Light Caught The Edges
  7. Arca — KICK II
  8. Holly Herndon — Proto
  9. Suzanne Ciani — Golden Apples Of The Sun
  10. Claire Rousay — A Softer Focus
  11. Emeka Ogboh — Beyond The Yellow Haze
  12. Mary Lattimore — Silver Ladders
  13. Negativland — Escape from Noise
  14. Axiome — Ça Ne Nous Rendra Pas Le Congo
  15. Eric Zann — Ouroborindra

Moving forward, Radix Tenebris will continue to delve into the enigmatic world of melancholic music, seeking out albums that resonate with the soul and stir emotions hidden within. As we journey further into the depths of sound, I invite you to join me on this exploration of the ethereal and the introspective. Stay tuned for future editions where we’ll uncover more gems that evoke the timeless essence of nostalgia and reflection.
