METATERME, a project by Elvin Brandhi and Emiddio Vasquez who, in their quasi-nomadic practice of creative displacement, deterritorialize circuits of interference, intersections of influence and cultural consciousness to “reverse the curse” through intimacy, empathy and collective catharsis.

Elvin Brandhi

Elvin Brandhi is an improvising lyricist, producer and sound artist from Bridgend, Wales making auto-tune blast beats from field recordings, tapes, instruments and voice. Live shows are unyielding bursts of erupting animation where her caustic stream of consciousness cavorts with restless, glitched out heaviness.

Her first E.P ‘Shelf life’ was released on ‘C.A.N.V.A.S’ in 2018. She one half of father / daughter noise-improv berserkers Yeah You who released on Alter, Slip, Opal, Psychik Dancehall and Good Food. She also performs in collaborations such as ‘Bad@Maths’ who also released on Slip, ‘INSIN’ who released their first E.P ‘Sadsun’ on Hizz, and unreleased projects such as ‘Gailvn Keiln’, ‘OCDC’ and ‘0n est Malade’.

Emiddio Vasquez

Emiddio Vasquez is a Cypriot-Dominican artist, composer and theorist whose research is shaped by the politics of matter and how they in-form sound and computation. For over a decade he helped shape the Cypriot underground music scene, as an organiser, a dj, and a performer, and in 2018 he founded the record label Moneda. Along with Peter Eramian he also works as Lower Levant Company, co-representing Cyprus in the 60th Venice Biennale.

With trust and commitment to live sonic experiences over their archives, his performances include electronics and synthesis techniques that vary in degrees of intensity and complexity. From raw ear-piercing noise to pulverized samples, field recordings and all-embracing sound quilts, he performs in response to people, environments, and histories, all in equal measure.

METATERME, një projekt nga Elvin Brandhi dhe Emiddio Vasquez, të cilët, në praktikat e tyre quasi-nomade të zhvendosjes krijuese, deterritorializojnë qarqet e interferencës, kryqëzimet e influencës dhe vetëdijes kulturore për të “kthyer mbrapsht mallkimin” përmes intimitetit, empatisë dhe katarsisit kolektiv.

Elvin Brandhi

Elvin Brandhi është një tekstshkruese, producente dhe artiste zëri improvizuese nga Bridgend, Uells, i cila krijon ritme të shpejta me akordim automatik nga regjistrime në terren, kasetat, instrumentet dhe tingujt. Shfaqjet e saj live janë shpërthime të pandalshme animacioni ku rrjedha e saj e ndërgjegjes sarkastike vallëzon me rëndesën e trazuar dhe të çrregulluar.

E.P-ja e saj e parë ‘Shelf life‘ u publikua në ‘C.A.N.V.A.S‘ në vitin 2018. Ajo është gjysma e dyshes së zhurmës-improvizimit baba/bijë ‘Yeah You‘, e cila ka publikuar me Alter, Slip, Opal, Psychik Dancehall dhe Good Food. Ajo gjithashtu performon në bashkëpunime si ‘Bad@Maths‘ (gjithashtu të publikuar te Slip), ‘INSIN‘ (që publikuan E.P-në e tyre të parë ‘Sadsun‘ te Hizz), si dhe në projekte të papublikuara si ‘Gailvn Keiln‘, ‘OCDC‘ dhe ‘0n est Malade‘.

Emiddio Vasquez

Emiddio Vasquez është një artist, kompozitor dhe teoricien qiprioto-dominikan, hulumtimi i të cilit formësohet nga politika e lëndës dhe se si ato ndikojnë te tingulli dhe kompjuterizimi. Për më shumë se një dekadë, ai ndihmoi në formësimin e skenës muzikore underground të Qipros si organizator, DJ dhe performues, ndërsa në vitin 2018 themeloi shtëpinë diskografike Moneda. Së bashku me Peter Eramian, ai gjithashtu punuje si Lower Levant Company, duke përfaqësuar bashkërisht Qipron në Bienalen e 60-të të Venecias.

Me besim dhe përkushtim ndaj përvojave zanore live mbi arkivat e tyre, performancat e tij përfshijnë elektronikë dhe teknika sinteze që ndryshojnë në shkallë intensiteti dhe kompleksiteti. Nga zhurma e papërpunuar që shpon veshët deri te mostrat e pluhurosura, regjistrimet në terren dhe batanije zanore gjithëpërfshirëse, ai performon në përgjigje të kërkesave të njerëzve, mjediseve dhe historive, të gjitha në masë të barabartë.
